Jubilant, fragrant, concentrated
A newer winery in the Okanagan Valley, Lunessence launched in 2014 after taking over a property in Summerland.
Their philosophy is hidden also in their name: Lunessence where Luna=Moon + Essence. The essence of the Moon. Moon as an important part of biodynamic farming that they are implementing. There are no pesticides or herbicides used in their vineyards with a focus on natural wines. According to partner/winemaker Michal Mosney (he and his wife moved to Canada from Slovakia several years ago) they ideally use only native yeast, no, or minimal fining (only bentonite and time), and very light or no filtration at all.
Muscat is one of the world's great aromatics, likely the most fragrant of them all. This one is no different; honeyed on the nose with orange blossoms and white raisins, peaches and snappy limes. Bouncy on the palate, it has incredible concentration and its sweetness is offset by mouthwatering acidity. A fresh and jubilant wine.
